Next Tuesday evening at 8
o'clock the Baptists will convene
in their church to consider the
proposition of cooperation with
the Presbyterians in work of
worship. A full attendance of
all Baptists interested in this
movement is requested.
Harry C. Smith and wife have
returned from an extended vaca
tion trip that took them to Crater
Lake, Ashland, on down through
the Rogue River Valley, visiting
Grandma Martin and also the
Cal Geer family at Riddle then
to Eugene and home over the
Cascade. They had a fine time
Miss Josephine Locher arrived
home Saturday evening from an
extended visit to outside points,
visiting Portland, Seattle, Taco
ma and other coast places during
her absence. She came in by
way of Agency where she visited
Miss Agnes Love for a few days
and also stopped oft at Drewsey
and visited Mrs. Harrison. She
had a very nice trip.
Geo. A. Smyth and son Fred,
J. L. Gault and W. Y. King made
party to go out to Bend Tuesday
morning in a private car. The
Smyths and Bill will go to Cor
vallis and on over to New Port
to enjoy the ocean breezes and
bathing for a time, Mr. King also
visiting his many friends and re
latives in Corvallis for a shoit
time. Mr. Gault goes to Port
land and other points for. ft short
vacation period.
C. R. Peterson came over from
Crane (reek Thursday bringing
Mrs.. Rose Vanderpool, Miss
Eunice Venator and Miss Floy
Bernard, all of whom had been
visiting at the Venator home for
a month or more. They left
yesterday morning for Lakeview,
their home, C. M, Faulkner tak
ing thorn over in his car. A.

years to buy stock to feed during
the winter period. He has big
alfalfa fields near Echo and finds
it more profitable to buy slock
and feed than to dispose of his
hay.

week but too late to. participate
in the "Round-up" at the Ex
periment Station. Mr. Carleton
spends a good portion of his time
visiting various points of the
United States in his official capa
city and he states that no other
section shows better results of
farming, than this Valley. Ik
was very much pleased with con
ditions at the Station and aston
ished at the fine crops he found
in this vicinity along the streams.
