Tlio Knocker U a feller
With n hammer in each ImiiiI ;

Ha knocks to beat tlio band.
When peopln como n looking
To mako homes within ourviOlct ;
This knocker anro will find them
And toll, tlio crops they will not rally
And frosts, como so lato In the spring
It catches tho (ruit and every thing:
Tlio grain you surely cannot rnieo
And tho land alono Is lit to i;ra?o.
It business In our town lioM tako,
Ho gives this advice; you'll surelj
break ;
For overy lino is over dono
Fold up your blankets and begone.
In every place this gay old knocker,
Knocks at progression with many a
socker;
When people como to view our vnllov .
A crop ot knockers nro bihc to rally.
There's way to knock that's good and
truo;
H'b knocking this knocker as ho would
do;
Wo need notknockin his way or maimer
But wo'll bang his head with an cffeclivo
hammer.
When ho ems tho frosts will kill; by
buck!
Wo'll exhlbitourfrnit and garden truck:
When ho says too dry; e need more
rain;
Out comes our tlno grasses and goMt n
grain.
The business in town where licM have
you break,
Just note the fine store, and eo the
intake;
To whatever line he'd call the attention,
Just show what we've got; no nord wo
need mention.
Our lioys, and our girls, are surely sub
lime,
There's only one
the dime;
Long lives hae our men, our nonien
live on.
So Scat! Mr. Knocker, jou'd bettor bo
gone.
I'll tell you what to do with this rooster,
Give hfm a hunch, to become a good
booster;
If its impossible for us to accomplish
this thing,
Let's have a good funeral before early
spring.
There's no room for a knocker; he's in
tho wrong allev,
But boosters ate needed to tell of onr
valley.
Just truth we need tell, ot the hillside,
and plain ;
It'll bring in investors that'll come back
again.
