fti Mi Ik " I". lb h I'M J Kt IK ;k (i 11 i. II;: I Vast Territory Without Church. "Thoro is n territory in south east Oregon in Mnlhcur nnd Har ney counties, outside of Burns and Wcstfall, as lrtrpo in aroa as Uio state of Vermont without a church of any kind or denomi nation. And in this territory thero aro twenty different com munities varying in size from ton to ono hundred families each that not only want but aro cuRor for a church." This is the re port brought out by Rev. G. G. Haley, the district superintend ent of this section for tho Metho dist churches, says tho Vnlo En terprise. Rev. Haley has completed a trip through tho interior of Mal heur and Harney counties and found not only twenty communi ties crying for a church, but he found lots of fine, sagebrush land that would grow fino crops under irrigation, and there seems to bo a good deal of water that should bo available for irrigation Hero then is a fine field for home missionary work, and one that would seem to stand investiga tion in the matter of controlling tho available waters for irriga tion purposes. The great devel opment that is sure to come in the wake of the building of the Hill and Harriman railroads through Central Oregon will bring about the results so much desired at this time by the twenty churchless communities referred to. NEW CLUBBING PROPOSITION We have irranged to offer in connection with this paper, the new monthly farm magazine just started at Lincoln, Nebraska, by Prof. H. W. Campbell and devot ed to the subject of how to farm in the dry country and how to get best results from soil tillage under normal conditions. This Paner is Camnbell's Scientific Farmer and we ofTei it clubbed with The Times-Tcrald both for $2.50 per year cash. Prof. CamjH bells' new nancr is a monthly, chock full of good things, the only paper of its kind in the world, and it embodies the ro sults of the editor's many years of painstaking investigation of the soil tillage proposition.
