It is tho in tention to issue this magazine at intervals during tho coming school year. The May number is the first and they hope to im prove on it. It is reported in a Portland paper that the Road Land sale has been completed and that the new owners will be in this place at once to open an oflice, examine and classify the land and get it ready for the market This is one of the best moves toward the development of this territory, aside from Mr. Hill's railroad, that has transpired in a long time. The road lands are some of the best in the west and the coloniz ation plans of the new owners means a rapid change from its present state to that of homes. always took a deep interest inl them throughout their territory. Definito announcement of these special premiums will bo made later nnd it will bo an incentive to our fanners for grcator effort and interest in the local fair next October. Mr. Hill will have rep resentatives heront tho fair to select what thoy desiro to place in tho Car and assist in getting tho products in shape. It is thorcforo important that extra effort bo made toward a greater display than over before. While ho did not say what prizes would be offered it was suggostcd to give them for fruit, wheat, barley oats, potatoes, onions, sngar, beets, etc. This is a tip to our producors that should bo suff icient nnd Tho Times-Herald believes our people will respond to ths important matter and do their' part toward getting up n fine display of our products. It should bo remembered that other couties of tho interior will bo represented and Harney county should not be excelled in any thing. Wo can do as well or better than some of our neigh bors and all should strives to that end. LOCAL OVL'RrLOW. THE WAR CONCERT.
