Home seekers are now moving and every day there passes this point emigrant wagons headed for Inland Oregon. They come from Idaho and they come from Washington; many of them pass ing through Harney county and going to Lake and Klamath counties. It is the opinion of those now on tho road that this season will witness a great many prospective settlers headed in this direction. Blue ML Eagle. While the rains of the week have not been general, a consid erable portion of tho country has received quite a generous supply of moisture and it has proven beneficial at tho growing crops. Grain has been quite backward but it has not been damaged by tho cold weather and with the usual June rains and warm weather we may expect good crops. Fruit prospects are not very encouraging at this time on account of cold nights but still wo may expect a very good yield of apples. Bid CELEBRATION PUNNED TOR 4TII. Development Congress, Horse Racing ami Baseball Cinmsa Kornl Da. The committee to secure finan ces with which to properly cele- Drato the 4th or July was more or less discouraged tho first of the week but M. L. Lewis and Dell Dibble got busy and suc ceeded in raising quite an addi tion to tho fund and now suffi cient is subscribed to make the Eagle scream loud. It is planned to have at least four days and possibly six. In vitations have been sent to Grant and Malheur counties suggesting a three team base ball tourna ment to cover the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and shguld the outside counties accept it is likely such will be the program for those days with some horse racing add ed on the 3rd. It is proposed to give at least $1200 for horse racing during tho week and pos sibly more if tho ball teams fail to respond. Should the latter not come the racing will be sub , 'stituted. The celebration proper will be held on Saturday, the 3rd, and tho committee hopes to make it one of the best yet undertaken. A parade with floats, liberty cars, etc. with patriotic addresses and music will be a featuro of the forenoon followed by a basket dinner and barbecue at the fair grounds. Tho afternoon will bo taken up with baso ball, horse racing and other sports. The program for the first two days will bo so arranged as to not conflict with the Oregon Idaho Development congress which will hold a two days ses sion in tnis city. The program for this congress is in tho hands of tho Commercial Club and no doubt full announcement will bo made within a short time. Tho celebration committee can-, not announce a definite program until responses have been receiv ed from tho ball teams of Grant and Malheur counties but tho people may bo assured of a good time. The band will give a con cert on tho evening of Juno 30 and tho same boys will bo hosts at a big ball to bo given on tho evening of July 2.
