will be shipped to the company's
big feed yards in California, and
fattened during the approaching
winter to supply their meat market
in San Francisco, 6ays a special

L. B. Rinehart, of North Yakima,
Washington, and several other cat­
tle buyers are in this couuty buy­
ing cattle. They have purchased
several hundred head from cattle­
men, who fear the snows of the
coming winter. Mr. Rinehart, who
was a cattle buyer in this section
over twenty years ago, secured one
band of splendid cattle at $12 per
head, with calves included and al-
falfa hay at $3 per ton.
George McKnight, a prominent
sheepraiser of Heppner, Oregon,
has been in the valley buying hay
to feed bis bands of sheep, which
will winter here. He has several
thousand head and secured enough
hay at from $3.75 to $4 per ton.
