“This Fool: Season 1” (Hulu — series premiere, Aug. 12)
Stand-up comic Chris Estrada is the creative force behind this original comedy series set in
working-class South Central Los Angeles and stars Estrada as Julio, a 30-year-old who still lives
at home, dates the same girlfriend on and off since high school and works at a nonprofit that of-
fers rehabilitation for gang members. Frankie Quinones, Laura Patalano and Michelle Ortiz also
star.
“Five Days at Memorial” (Apple TV+ — limited series premiere, Aug. 12)
This limited eight-episode original documentary series from executive producers Carlton Cuse
and John Ridley is based on the book by Sheri Fink and chronicles the impact of Hurricane Ka-
trina and its aftermath on a New Orleans hospital. The dire conditions in that faciltiy forced care-
givers to make decisions that would follow them for years to come.
