Get out, get away and dine at celebrity
chef-owned restaurants
With COVID restrictions loosening and the hospitality
industry coming back online, Americans can finally get back
to two of their favorite pastimes: traveling and going out to
eat.
And if they’re so inclined, those who like to travel on their
stomach can venture to locations around the country to
dine in restaurants owned and/or inspired by their favorite
TV chefs. So whether it’s Italian, burgers or farm-to-table
you crave, there is no doubt an eatery with a celebrity chef ’s
name on it to suit your tastes. Such as the establishments
below.
Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House, Las Vegas: As the name
suggests, seafood and Creole cooking are what’s for dinner
at Emeril Lagasse’s establishment on The Strip at the MGM
Grand, offering kicked-up versions of market-fresh fish and
shellfish creations alongside flavorful steaks and inspired
pork and chicken dishes. And if you’re into wine, you can
pair your dish with Wine Spectator favorites. Entrees are in
the $40-60 range.
Craft Los Angeles: Tom Colicchio brought his “what’s
local is best” style of cooking from New York to this West
Coast establishment that emphasizes seasonal dining and
warm hospitality in its main dining room and patio. Among
the items on the dinner menu are diver scallops, Wagyu
sirloin, Alaskan halibut and a pork rack. Entrees run $32-62.
Bobby’s Burger Palace, various locations: Burgers, fries
and shakes are what’s on the menu of this chain from chef
Bobby Flay, which has locations in Maryland, Connecticut,
New York, Las Vegas, Ohio, Georgia, New Jersey and
Washington, D.C. As one would guess, the creations are
imaginative with toppings ranging from blue cheese and
bacon to green chilis and cole slaw. There are also salads and
other choices for the health-conscious. Prices are sub-$10.
Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen, Las Vegas: Head to
Caesars Palace on The Strip to dine at this eatery that offers
an la carte menu with items such as beef Wellington, braised
short ribs, jidori chicken scallopini and a dry-aged New
York strip. Entree prices run $32-60. There is also a prix fixe
three-course menu offered with ($149) and without wine
($90).
GDL Italian by Giada, Baltimore: Giada de Laurentiis
shares her signature Italian dishes in an open-concept dining
room in this restaurant inside Horseshoe Casino Baltimore,
offering her own spins on traditional favorites like chicken
parmesan, antipasti, baked lasagna and Tuscan ribeye. Prices
are in the $35-60 range. After being closed due to the
pandemic, it’s slated to reopen this week.
