Season 2 of the true-crime anthology
series is titled “The Betty Broderick
Story” and follows the familiar story of
Broderick (played here by Amanda Peet),
the San Diego woman who shot and
killed her ex-husband and his second wife
in their sleep. Christian Slater, Rachel
Keller, Missi Pyle and Emily Bergl also
star in the eight episodes.
Al Pacino gives an appropriately
over-the-top performance in director
Brian De Palma’s violent 1983 remake
of the mobster classic. As gangland
wannabe Tony Montana, the actor drips
machismo from every pore, even when
it’s ill-advised. Michelle Pfeiffer plays the
walking mannequin who becomes the
underworld novice’s mistress.
From across the pond comes this true
crime documentary that tells the story
of the 1999 London bombings that
targeted the Black, Bangladeshi and
gay communities and the manhunt for
the far right-wing perpetrators of the
attacks that left three people dead and
140 injured, three with loss of limbs.
