Awards (CBS — new special, April
18)
These annual awards, which hon-
or the biggest names and emerging
new talent in country music, returns
to Nashville, Tenn., in a broadcast
originating from three of the city’s most
revered performing venues: the Grand
Ole Opry House, historic Ryman Au-
ditorium and the Bluebird Cafe. Maren
Morris and Chris Stapleton lead the
pack of nominees with six nods apiece;
Miranda Lambert follows with five nomi-
nations. For the first time in history, four
Black artists — John Legend, Jimmie
Allen, Kane Brown and Mickey Guyton
— are nominated in the same year.
