Brady
Continued from A5
Some went along for the
ride and barely made an im-
pact on those six titles Brady
won. Others delivered the key
plays that decided those games,
whether it was Malcolm Butler’s
game-sealing interception at
the goal line against Seattle, or
Adam Vinatieri’s inning kicks
against St. Louis and Carolina.
Here’s a look at some of them:
Most appearances
No one has played in more
Super Bowls with Brady than
Stephen Gostkowski, who went
with him six times during their
tenures in New England. Rob
Gronkowski can join a group
right behind Gostkowski this
year with his fifth appearance,
matching the number for Matt
Light, Devin McCourty, Patrick
Chung and Matthew Slater.
There are 26 players who
have played in three Super Bowl
wins as Brady’s teammates, with
Gronkowski hoping to join that
group this year. Gronkowski
played in Super Bowl wins fol-
lowing the 2014 and ’18 seasons
but missed the epic comeback
against Atlanta following the
2016 season with an injury.
Hall of famers
Three of Brady’s Super Bowl
teammates have already been
inducted into the Hall of Fame
with more likely to come down
the road. Ty Law, who played
on the first three title teams in
New England, was inducted
to the Canton, Ohio shrine in
2019 and is the only one of the
three to get there based mostly
on their careers with Brady.
Randy Moss and Junior Seau
joined up with Brady late in
their careers and both made
big impacts during the perfect
16-0 regular season in 2007, but
came up short in their only trip
to the Super Bowl.
Richard Seymour is a Hall
of Fame finalist this year and
others such as Gronkowski, Vi-
natieri and Darrelle Revis could
follow in upcoming years.
Leading men
Brady has completed passes
to 37 players in his nine pre-
vious Super Bowl trips, with a
few standing out as his favor-
ite targets. Julian Edelman and
Deion Branch, who both won
Super Bowl MVPs with Brady,
are tied for the most catches
with 24 apiece. Edelman’s 337
yards are 16 more than Branch
for the most of any of Brady’s
targets.
Gronkowski could pass them
this year as he comes into the
game with 23 catches for 297
yards. He already has the most
TD catches from Brady with
three, one ahead of David Giv-
ens, Danny Amendola and line-
backer Mike Vrabel.
Gostkowski has the most
points scored alongside Brady
with 33, but two other players
have more significant scores.
James White scored 20 of his 26
career Super Bowl points in the
comeback win over Atlanta four
years ago, including the TD that
helped force overtime and the
OT winner.
Vinatieri is next with 20, in-
cluding the field goals that won
the title in Brady’s first two trips.
Playing both sides
Tampa Bay edge rusher Ja-
son Pierre-Paul can join a much
more exclusive list as one of the
players to beat Brady in a Super
Bowl and win a title with him,
DEAR ABBY
Write to Dear Abby online at dearabby.com
or by mail at P.O. Box 69440, Los Angeles, CA 90069
Dear Abby: When my boss
hired me as an assistant four
years ago, she specifically told
me my job was to do whatever
the person above me wants. I
wasn’t allowed to communicate
with anyone on the job other
than the lady above me. Even
though it was tough to watch
my supervisor make so many
bad decisions and get away with
it, I did what was required of
me.
Now I have worked my way
up and have an assistant of my
own. However, my boss has
given my assistant much more
than she ever gave me when I
was in that position. Sometimes
I feel like she acts like I’m not
valued. I want to point it out,
but I don’t want to be that kind
of person. I love what I do, but
I don’t know how much longer
I can handle being treated this
way.
Should I tell her how I feel?
She constantly leaves me out of
important decisions and then
tries to play mind games to
make up for it. She is also giving
my assistant important infor-
mation before telling me. I don’t
know what I should do.
— Frustrated in Oregon
Dear Frustrated: Many com-
panies have annual reviews for
employees in which subjects
like the ones you have raised are
discussed. If this isn’t the case in
your firm, ask for one.
During that conversation, tell
your boss that sometimes you
feel your efforts aren’t valued
and why. Remind her that you
were instructed not to talk with
anyone on the job other than the
person immediately above you,
and you feel undercut because
your assistant is being given im-
portant information before it
is shared with you. It may clear
the air. However, if it doesn’t, by
all means start searching for an-
other job, since you seem to be
considering it anyway.
Dear Abby: I am worried
about my kids and their social
well-being. I understand we are
in a pandemic. Our family has
been responsible and socially
distancing, but it seems like their
friends have all been spending
time together. Understandably,
having been part of the Giants
that beat New England after the
2011 season. Pierre-Paul had
two passes defensed and a quar-
terback hit in the 21-17 victory
that season.
The only others to do that
are Chris Long and LeGarrette
Blount. Both were part of the
2016 champions with the Pa-
triots and then were with Phil-
adelphia the next season when
the Eagles spoiled a repeat at-
tempt. Blount also won a title
with Brady in the 2014 season.

Common names
A few first names have stood
out more than others when it
comes to Brady’s Super Bowl
teammates, led by the nine
Brandons: Bolden, Browner,
Deadrick, Gorin, King, LaFell,
Meriweather, Mitchell and
Spikes. That doesn’t even count
Brandin Cooks, who played
with Brady following the 2017
season.
Next on the list is Chris with
six: Akins, Hanson, Hogan,
Jones, Long and White. There
are also five players named
James (Develin, Harrison, Ihe-
digbo, Sanders and White) and
five more named Kyle (Ar-
rington, Brady, Eckel, Love and
Van Noy).
my kids are jealous and angry
at their father and me for put-
ting restrictions on them. But
I am worried about their lack
of social interaction and how it
may affect their future. One of
them has a harder time making
friends and doesn’t have many
things in common with their
peers, which led to spending
more time at home when there
was no pandemic.
— Worried Mom in New York
Dear Worried: Until the threat
of COVID has been resolved, it’s
up to you as parents to decide
how you restrict your children
in relation to the pandemic.
Of course you want to protect
them, even if your choices aren’t
popular. Kids can be careless.
They can forget to pull their
masks up and stay socially dis-
tanced, and the results can be
tragic. But there are relatively
safe outdoor activities parents
can plan to keep their children
from being completely isolated.
As to your child who is less
socially adept, this is a subject
to discuss with his/her teachers
or a child psychologist. Perhaps
you can help by researching on-
line interest groups this child
can join that will connect them
with other children — under
your supervision, of course.

Missing rings
Only two players went to the
Super Bowl with Brady more
than once and never got a ring
out of it. Guard Logan Mankins
and receiver Wes Welker were
both part of the New England
teams that lost to the Giants
following the 2007 and ’11 sea-

title game one more time with
Denver in the 2013 season —
and lost for a third time against
Seattle.
