Checking in with MISSY PEREGRYM BY JAY BOBBIN “Movie: The Secrets We Keep” “Jann” Noomi Rapace (“The Girl Who Played With Fire”) stars as a woman in post- World War II America who kidnaps a neighbor she believes committed heinous war crimes against her in this 2020 drama from writer/director Yuval Adler (“Bethlehem,” “The Operative”). Joel Kinnaman (“For All Mankind”), Chris Messina (“Argo”) and Amy Seimetz (“Pet Sematary”) also star. From CTV in Canada comes this comedy series, which stars Canadian singer/songwriter/actress Jann Arden (“Workin’ Moms”) as a fictionalized version of herself, just out of a long- term relationship with a female partner and on a quest for renewed fame. Deborah Grover, Zoie Palmer and Elena Juatco are also in the cast. (ORIGINAL) As she performs “FBI” duty now, Missy Peregrym also is on another case: parenthood. The “Rookie Blue” alum missed much of the CBS drama’s second season as she and actor husband Tom Oakley welcomed their first child, Otis. She’s now back for Season 3, which has aired only two new episodes, having been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic ... but it returns with a special Sunday airing after the AFC championship football game Jan. 24, then resumes in its usual Tuesday slot two nights later. “ ‘Overwhelming’ is probably the best word,” the friendly Peregrym allows of her new balance between work and family. “It’s a lot of adjustments and changes. I didn’t really consider myself a career person until I had a child, and now, work is completely different because all I’m thinking about is Otis. You’re so emotionally attached to this person, and it’s something you’ve never experienced before.” Peregrym is grateful, therefore, to be back in the company of “FBI” co-workers she already knew well. “It would be much harder if it was a brand-new job,” she reasons. “It feels really nice to have the same team.” Maggie Bell’s (Peregrym) return to FBI duty has been marked by her revelation to partner “OA” (Zeeko Zaki) that she is romantically involved with a colleague from her recent undercover assignment. “I think it’s a really big deal for Maggie to have somebody in her life in a serious way,” Peregrym reflects. “Especially because of what happened to her husband (a reporter who died in a supposed car accident), she’d probably want to keep it as private as possible. There’s been some good character stuff.” Birthdate: June 16, 1982 Birthplace: Montreal Current residence: New York Marital status: Married to Australian actor and producer Tom Oakley; they have one child, Otis, born last March Other television credits include: “Van Helsing,” “Ten Days in the Valley,” “The Night Shift,” “Saving Hope,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “Motive,” “Cybergeddon,” “Rookie Blue,” “Reaper,” “Heroes,” “Life As We Know It,” “Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss,” “Andromeda,” “Smallville,” “Tru Calling,” “Jake 2.0,” “Black Sash,” “The Chris Isaak Show,” “Dark Angel” Movie credits include: “Backcountry,” “Wide Awake,” “Stick It”
