Special to The Bulletin
PRINEVILLE The new man
agement plan for the U.S. Forest
Service will be the topic for con
sideration Monday, July 22, at the
luncheon meeting of the Prine
ville Chamber of Commerce, in
the Ochoco Inn.
Reporting on the new plan will
bo C. L. Clark, Ochoco forest sup
ervisor, Jim Thompson and
Gary Swank. They will base
their report on a survey made in
the past two years. The results
of these findings will indicate the
amount of lumber that may be
cut in the Ochoco National For
est, forming a base for the much
discussed annual "allowable cut"
for mills of the area, lt was stated.
Ultimate results will form a
base to cover a poriod of ten
years, enabling local mills to gear
production to the availability of
the lumber supply from the na
tional forest.
The Chamber of Commerce is
also urging all members to use
the new Zipcode number for
Prineville, 97754, on their corres
pondence.
