WASHINGTON, Dec. 21. Issu
ance of tho new half-dollar coin, de
signed by Adolph Weinman, design

quarter, designed by Herman A.
MncNoll, both considered ' by experts
as coins of great beauty and qual

of 1917.
The extraordinary demand for
small coins cents, nickels and

of the mints and officials believed
calls for the new quarter and hal-
