Some criticism had been heard concerning tho proposed appropriation of $1,000 for the State Chamber of Commerce but no one appeared to fllo a pro test to this expenditure. J. P. Keyes, Mrs. E P. Mnhnffey, and Miss Margaret Brents, represent ing tho Bed Cross, submitted a re quest to the court for tho purchase of a car, and n $50 ft mouth appro priation for upkeep, to make, possible tho oxtensjon of tho work of tho Bed Cross nurso, to cover tho entire county, especially In regard to rural schools." It was estimated that tho total amount for this purpose would be approximately $1,G00. To answer any objections to the Item of $3,000 for library purposes, Mrs. B. S. Dart and Mrs. J. M. Law rence, attended the morning session, but no criticisms of this item of ex penso was filed. No decisions on nny questions rel ative to expenditures wero to be made by the court until the end of the meeting. In connection with the opening of tho road south. F. M. Chrisman, proprietor of the Silver Lake Stage line, submitted a request thai the court wire to Klamath Kails, asking that the portion of tho highway lying in Klainath county, bo cleared of .snow.' The desired action was taken. .The remainder of the road lying out side of Deschutes county, , will be opened from Sliver Lake, Mr. Chris man stated.
