Tho an nual meeting of Plalnvlew school district No. 23 waa held last Monday afternoon at tho nehool house. Tho meeting was called to order by tho chairman, J. B. Elklns. As Mr. Elklns term expired this year, J. B. Dawson was elected as third director. Mrs. 11. A. Scoggln was re-elected clerk. Tho budget was accepted as advertised, and work will begin this summer on making n standard school. A motion was made and carried to extend the school term a month, mailing nine months ot school instead of eight. Itoy and Edgar Hcartt hauled a load of potatoes from tho Hatch ranch, near Tumalo, last Wednesday. Hay Armstrong made a business trip to Powell Dutto Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. JI. T. Hartley were Sisters callers Tuesday evening. Newell Van Tassel returned homo last week from a trip to Portland. Mary Dennett of Silver Lake is visiting at the J. A. W. Scoggln homo this week. Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Burgess and guests, Mr. and Mrs. Wells of Pine Tree mill, were callers In Plalnvlew Wednesday evening. Tho O. D. O. club will hold Its regular meeting Thursday afternoon, June 2C, with Mrs. Phil Smith. The ladles will please remember their scissors and thimbles. A. W. Armstrong, Mrs. Hubert Armstrong, Wllma Bennett and Miss Burgess woro Bend callers .Satur day. Will Patterson of Portland arrived in Plalnvlew Saturday to spend a week of vacation with relatives at tho A. E. Hoss home. Mrs. M. J. Van Tassel arrived home Monday after an absence of several wcoks. The mother and two sisters of Mrs. J. B. Dawson arrived at the Dawson home Sunday morning and will spend somo timo visiting here. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Colfelt and family spent Sunday evening at the A. E. Hoss home. Mr. and Mrs. II. T. Hartley and guests, Mr. and Mrs. Scarth of tho Pine Tree mill, enjoyed a fishing trip at the river Saturday evening. Miss Luella Burgess went to Cul ver Saturday evening, where she will nurso for several weeks. Frank Armstrong arrived from Portland Sunday morning and mado a short visit at the J. A. W. Scoggin ranch, en routo to Wyoming. Oeorgo Calverley was In Bend Sun day for a minor operation. A. W. Armstrong was a caller on tho dentist in Bend Monday morn ing. Rooney homo on Thursday. Fred Klzor was elected director In R. R. Keller's placo at tho school election last Mondny. The derrick is being raised on tho Rosin placo. Leo F.
