The verdict, fend in court this morning, was tor tho de fendant, allowing no portion of 'the $10,357 damages asked. Mr. Brown was represented In tho caso by R. S. Hamilton and C. S. Benson. Thcro aro four tons of mall going over tho road every day when mail can be moved. Some times it takes six or eight horses to get through with tho mall. Forty two per cent, of tho value of tho county Is Jn this mountain-locked section with its ono poor road. Tho county has spent 180,000 on tho present road nnd still cannot keep it open. Thp now road, which may be called the Dennett highway, runs 32 miles south and cast of Prlnevillo to tho Shorty Davis ranch. Tho road follows Crooked river and will bo. on a water grado. It will cost about $95,000 and as a post road project tho government can co operate for half tho amount. At Prlnevillo tho road goes on. 10 miles to tho Deschutes county lino, and is then only a few miles from Redmond. Lalco to Jbtnd to Limit. For Lake county tho state will put up $200,000, the county will bond itself for $200,000, which is Its limit, and tho government will be asked to contribute $400,000. The con templated road Improvements in Klamath will cost an cstlmato of $801,980.
