In the decade that has passed Bend has grown from a country village of 500 to a flourishing" city of 6000. In this growth'and development it has been our good fortune to take an active part. Today, with resources of over one million dollars, compared to $40,000 ten years ago, we are serving the people of Bend and Central Oregon in every manner compatible with good banking practice. It is a satisfaction to us, and of value to our customers, that during the 10 years of our business life The First National Bank has been under the same management, thereby insuring an in creasing fund of understanding of the banking needs of the peo ple of this section and a consistent policy of development. C. S. Hudson, E.A. Sather, U.C.Coe and H.C. Ellis have been directors from the beginning and L. G. McReynoIds, just elected to the directorate, lias becii employed In the bank for the full ten years, less just five weeks.- Today The First National is the largest of the banks in Oregon having the same capi tal and surplus, and stands in the Honor Roll for ratings of banks of the United States. The feeling that there is need of co-operation between the bank on one hand and busi ness on the other based upon sound financial principles and judgment by both, has perme ated the institution from the beginning. In the 10 years that have passed, the effort of The First National has been to give pro gressive and constructive service to its, patrons and the community. That it has succeeded we believe is clearly indicated by its position, not only in Bend, but among the banks of the state. No one firm or individual can lay claim to the credit for the present development and prosperity of the city of Bend. Too many have shared in the work to make that possible, but we feel that we may justly take Credit for a share and, in doing so, express our hope and expectation of being in the'next 10 years, of still greater service to the community.
