I have ahvayH conlcndcd thai a diploma merely certi
fied that the recipient had "absorbed" mich principles
of dentistry as could he "taken up" by his "mental
system" and his KKAL EDUCATION WAS YET
TO COME.
In my 15 years of practice I have had this truth forc
ibly illustrated over and over again.
I have employed a score or more dentists and have
been "patronized" by some, "tolerated" by others,
and "pitied" by still othersbut I NEVER HAD A
iMAN IN MY EMPLOY TWO MONTHS HUT
WHAT HE ACTUALLY KNEW MOKE AND
TALKED LESS THAN WHEN I EMPLOYED
HIM.
That does not mean that I am a smarter man or a bet
ter dentist than my fellows il does not mean I am
egotistical it simply means that I, TOO, HAD THE
CONCEIT THAT I ACQUIRED IN DENTAL COL
LECE KNOCKED OUT OF ME IN THE SCHOOL
OF. EXPERIENCE, and was therefore belter able to
judge the REAL ABILITY or other dentists and
steer them around the pitfalls that beset my path.
That dearly-bought experience was worth all it rost
me. It has enabled me to build up a practice of Den
tal Specialists
It has enabled me to systematize this practice tint I
can save the public half their dental bills without sac
rifice of quality of material or skill.
It taught me to experiment until I perfected the local
anesthetic which enables me to eliminate unneces
sary pain.
