CROSSINGS BEGUN

Work began this morning on 300
gravel crossings which are to be put
In where sldowalks havo recently
been constructed.. This work, one.
of the final stops in preparing Bend,
for frco city mail delivery, will bo
completed In about 30 days.
The contract has been let by tho
city council to James Green, at 98
cents per cubic yard of gravel. Three
teams are hauling the 800 or 100b
cubic yafds that will he necessary la
completing tho crossings.
