forestry Bcrvlco, have commenced tho
thorough overhauling ot tho Hlg
Hlvcr line, and by means of a unique
arstom of construction, hopo to bo
ablo to avoid tho breaks lu tho lino
which occurred literally by hundrers
in tho woods last summer.
According to tho plan worked out
by tho forestry service, tho lino runs
from tho city limits to tho Shovlln
Hlxon logging road. At this point,
insulated copper wire will bo used,
stapled loosely to tho ties to avoid
tho vibration ot passing trains caus
ing breakage. When tho end of tho
railroad Is reached, tho wire will
cross tho river, and connected with
common Iron wire, which will be
strung loose along tho lava rock.
Experience his shown that this va
riety ot stone Is almost a perfect In
sulator. It is expected that 13 miles ot the
lino will bo completed this season.
