Looking at it from that sldo alono they should be only too glad to help build a railroad that will make It easier for tho people to get to Port land with their money. From tho beginning tho only ques tion ns to tho success of Mr. Strn horn's plans has been felt to depend on Portland. A foW or Its broad vlsloncd, blg-mlndcd men, have pled' ged their support and, already havo been of -great assistance to tho rail road builder. But they cannot do it alone.
