forest In the United States have been
worked out In tho last two weeks by
C. M. Allen, telephono expert of tho
district U. S. Forest office In Port
land, working with V. 0. Hastings,
of tho Deschutes National forest.

of alteration In tho present system,
the local forest will nave an cuiciciii
system of communication with all
points on the forest.
With tho present arrangement It
Is frequently necessary to talk over
a great distance to reach a point near
at hand. The re-arrangement of tho
government lines will not bo exten
sive, but odds and ends of lines
wlilrh liavo been Improvised to meet
emergencies will bo brought under
ono line.

of tho forest. Sisters will do mauo

communication as tho main station
for both of theso places. At tho
