awaiting more detailed action by the

has not been slow to take advantage
of tha opportunity offered by tho for

Inquired about the possibilities of
establishing a neighborhood colony
on crane Prairie.
To Survey I.ot. Soon,
Encouraged by these numerous re
ports and Inquiries Mr. Hastlpgs ex
pects to novo pioth surveyed along
the Metollus river, Hast lake and
Paullnn lake. Lots of convenient
size will be platted at places which
offer tho best facilities and scenic
vlow for settlers. The price at which
these lots will bo offered will range
between $,' and $lfi for n year's ren
tal. There will bo only a fow $e
nnd $1R lots, tho majority of them
ranging between theso two prices.
It will bo the rule of tho forest ofllcc
that only substantial, neat houses bo
erected. The cost need not be out of
tho rench of the person with limited

will bo that the houses bo not shacks.
Mr. Hastings Is receiving the en
couragement of the district forest of
