A mooting of tho dairymen Inter ested In tho organization of a cow testing association In Crook county was hold at the Powell Hutto Im provement Club hall on Friday, June 23rd, for the purpose of organization. Twenty four dairymen wcro present and with the nsslstnnco of Prof. F. W. Kohrll, U. S. dairy Hold ngent, and tho county agriculturist, an or ganization was affected. Tho namo chosen for this association is The First Central Oregon Co-operatlvo Cow Testing Association and tho of ficers elected were Honry McCall, president; John Kemmllng, vlco president; nnd E. C. Park, secretary- treasurer. The president, vice presi dent nnd secretary-treasurer compose tho executive hoard of tho associa tion. Members of this association will receive tho nsalstanco of an ofllclal tester In determining the value of tho Individual animals composing tholr herds. Each animal will bo tented once each month for ono year end actual vnlue of products and ex penses together with tho profits will bo figured monthly nnd nt tho end of tho year. The cost for this work will ho $l.r0 per cow with a mini mum hord of olght cows, that is If n herd consists of less thnn eight cows tho oxpoiiBo will bo $12. Whoro two smnll herds aro located very near each other and ownern can ar range milking periods satisfactorily these may bo entered as ono herd.
