score of 10 to 3 last Sunday at Cul
ver would give the impression that
tho local nino had a complete walk
away, but reports on the game nro to
tho effect that the Cuivcrites put up
a stiff game, with the exception of tho
sixth and eighth Innings. Up to
tho fifth inning Culver held Dend to
two runs whllo Culver had put over
three scores.
In tho fifth inning Horlng, tho Cul
ver pltchor, weakened and allowed
three hits and a walk which netted
threo scores. Horlng was taken out
and Homes went into tho box In tho
eighth Inning nnd was found for six
hits which gave llend four additional
scores. Horlng, who has n fast ball,
gavo tho Hend hitters, with tho ex
ception of O'Donnell, considerable
trouble. Ho struck out 10 men In
tho seven Innings ho was in tho box,
and allowed only six hits.
Springer opened tho game for Hend
but whs taken out in tho end of tho
second nnd replaced by Tetherow
Culver scored two runs on Springer
nnd threo hits. Tetherow nllowed
threo hits.
O'Donnell was the hitting domon
for Hend last Sunday gottlng a threo
bagger, a two bagger nnd two sin

Tho cattlo market opened rather
brisk, although tho receipts wero
light. Ono shipment of pulp fed
steers sold nt $9.16, this being tho
top price. Hulk of grain fed stock
sold nt JS.SC to $9. No cluiugo In
prices of cows, heifers or bulls, re
ceipts being very light. There was
a Blight decrease) in calf receipts this
week, although tho prices wero un
changed. A fair run of hogs wns re
celved. The bulk sold nt prices rang
lug from $9 to J'J.lfi. Tho top prices
reached bolng $9.20 and $9,25. Mar
kct closing strong. Tho sheep re
ceipts aro showing n marked In
crease. Spring 'lambs nro bringing
$10 to $10.50. No change in prices
of wothcrs nnd owes. This class of
stock is still ln great demand.
