for nn exteuslvo campaign for tho
benutlflcatlou of tho city and tho
cleaning up and keeping clean of nil
alloys, streets nnd other spots now In
nn unsightly condition.
Ono of tho first matters on the
committee's program Is to mako a
general survey of tho town for the
purposo of listing nil places which
need clennlng up. When this Is fin
ished tho qwners, or others who may
bo responsible, will be urged to havo
tho work done. If within n renson-
nblo tlmo no ntteutlnn Is paid to tlm
request tho mimes will bo reported
to tho council for action under the
rccoutly enacted clean-up ordinance.
Along with tho elforts to obtain a
cleaner city n "Swnt-the-lly" cam
palgn Is planned. Work In this Hue
Is to begin at onco In order to get the
jump on those pests nnd clean thorn
out boforo thoy have time to multi
ply. Another fonture of tho work will
bo to encourage llower nnd lawn
planting In tho residence districts.
In this the committee will work In
conjunction with the Ladles Library
