The following statement regarding paymonts has recently been Issued by Hie stato tax commission and Is of Interest at this tlmo. "1. Where ono half of tho 1914 taxes on any proporty was paid be fore April 1, 1915, tho second half may bo paid any tlmo hoforo October 1, 1915, without penalty or Interest; If tho second half Is not so paid It will becomo delinquent on October 1 and bo then subject to a penalty of 10 per cent nnd Interest at tho rate of 12 por cent per annum from said dato. "2. Whoro ono half was not paid beforo April 1, 1915, a ponalty ot one per cont for each calondar month or part thereof, on tho total nmount unpaid, cumulatos during tho period beginning April 1 nnd ending Aug ust 31, 1915. For Illustration, if a tsx bill as charged on tho roll totals $100.00 and tho full amount Is paid In tho month of August, a penalty of 5 per cent ($5.00) Is to bo added thereto. Theso cumulative ponnltles oro not to- bo collected on or nftor Soptombor 1, 1915, being superseded on that dato by tho ponnltles nnd In terest npnllcnblo to delinquent taxes. "3. Whoro ono half of tho 1914 taxes on nnv property was not paid beforo April 1, 1915, tho entire amount unpaid will beconfo delin quent on September 1, 1915, nnd bo then subject to a pcnnlty of 10 por cent nnd Interest at tho rnto of 12 per cent per annum. Section 1 of Chapter 15C, Laws of 1915, amending Section 3GS2, Lord's Oregon Laws, and pro viding In part that "Tho first half or nil taxes locally levied and charged shall bo paid on or beforo tho fifth dav of April following, and tho sec ond hnlf on or boforo tho fifth day of October following," has no ap plication whntevor to taxes charged on tax rolls of tho year 1914.
