THR BEND nUTLETIN, I1END, OltE., WEDNESDAY, JULY 7, 1MB.
TO THE PEOPLE OF BEND:
On August 9 you will be asked to vote
on the question of granting another Fran
chise for light and power distribution in Bend
In order that the question may be con
sidered on its merits, we intend to submit
to the voters the opinions of various au
thorities throughout the country as to the
duplication of public utilities, the first being
printed herewith. We ask your thought
ful consideration of these statements.
We do this in the interest of the public
as well as in our own.
We believe that in the long run Bend's
interests and our interests are identical.
Competition does not bring GOOD
SERVICE nor LOW RATES.
