built, mostly by donations of tho
business men of Bond nnd tho far
mers In tho vicinity of tho road. This
improvement will bo of great benefit
to tho community as It makes tho
marketing of tho products of thnt
section much easier.
A strong committee has been ap
pointed to look after tho mntter of
Irrigation. This commlttco will mako
an effort to Induco Congress to mako
an appropriation 'for irrigation when
it next convenes.
Also Miss Helen M. Manny hnB
been selected to represent this com
munity at tho colobratlon nt tho
opening of tho Cclllo Canal at Big
Eddy on May 5th, tho club paying tho
expenses.
A large numbor of letters of In
quiry have been received during this
period from nil over tho country all
of which havo been answered nnd
literature of Bond and Contrnl Oro
gon sent to most of them. As a ro
buR of this corrcspondonco several
peoplo havo como hero to live.

pto be well attended which shows tho
Interest taken by the momberB.

tho Pnrent-Tenchor Association to
provldo playgrounds for tho chil
dren. Tho piny grounds nro now an
accomplished fact. Tho Pnront
Toacher Association Is mnluly re
sponsible for this, however

cially to Improve and furnish suit

of strangers nnd fnrmers coming In
