LET'S SEE THE CAT.
Again tho Prlnovlllo Nows is sil
ent. None of those exposures re
garding count' affairs appear. Per
haps somebody has pointed out to
Editor Pollard tho folly of his stnrt.
Perhaps oh horrible thought the
News is subsidized too!
The News was going to rip .things
wide open. The lid was to be llfto.1
and the public at last shown the hor
rors beneath it.
But the News still gives no news.
Its last editorial Is carefully color
less, concerning Now York gun men;
ns n topic polar exploration would
have been about as pertinent and
Intimate. However, under the sub
terfugo of a letter, nominally writ
ten by V. H. Lucy, It shies a little
mud at the County Court (excepting
the Judge, of course), at tho Sheriff.
District Attorney and tho editors of
The Bulletin, Pioneer nnd Journal.
Mr. Lucy, we gather from tho tone
Of his epistle, is training In the
Springer correspondence school.
That, however, Is bestde the Issue,
"We are Interested in that cat. Won't
you plea'se, Mr. Pollard, let h!ui out
tlf the bag? Consider those farmers,
'craving for truth, and answer these
questions:
Who nre the "subsidized press?"
Who subsidizes them?
How Is It done?
What news Is suppressed?
What are your objections to Prank
Elklns? To Wnrren Brown? To W.
W. Brown? To Wlllard Wirtz? To
H. A. Foster?
For whom should wo vote for
Sheriff? For Cemmlbsloner? For
Cleric?
Briefly, we. too, crave Information.
We desire to see tho color of that
poor, suppressed Court House cat.
If there is aught In you, Editor
Pollard but buncombe, we, nnd tho
public desire to know It. Perhaps we
misjudge you. If so, put us right.
And If you would not entirely dis
credit your newsleM News, you must
now stand forth upon your own feet,
abandoning tricky Innuendoes, and
earing axaetly what you mean.

The attltudo of tho robots under

SAVE THE PISHING.
A little effort made now will In
euro the repeal of the present trout
flsjjlng law for the Deschutes. As
It is, anglers can fish all the year;
they simply are supposed to keep
nothing under ten Inches in length.
As n result, the trout are being at
tacked all the time, those smaller
than ten Inches are actually being
kept, and propagation of trout Is be
ing checked through the killing of
egg bearing fish.
Everyone who loves fishing and de
sires n maximum of sport In the Dee
chutes should back up this move.
April Is time onough to commence
fishing; one can get plenty of recre
ation during the summer. If the or
iginal fish season can again be en
forced, there will be more fun for
anglers, more attraction for visitors,
and more business for those who sell
tackle than can over be the case If
tho present destructive method be
followed for another season.
