The engineer in chargo was Instruct! ed to make tho connection wherever requested at cost plus 10 er cent. In view of tho fact that tho trenches are now cmui and the city has and can use for this extra work the drills and other outfit needed It Is expected that many will tako advun tnge of tho city's offer. With tho tools on hand and tho working or ganlzntlon perfected as It Is, tho cost should be materially less than tho expenso to tho individual owners If they wait and later undertake tho work separately. Tho engineer's report for March was presented to the council and a proved. As Indicated In last week's Issue of The Ilultctln, a greater amount of work was done In that month than In tho three months pre ceding. Up to April 1. 1692 feet of pipe was laid, 1572 feet of earth excavat ed and 2009 feet of rock. For tho month the a vera go number of men on the payroll was 65. During the present month the work will be mostly up town and in tho heavy rock at tho lower end of the main sewer.
