Tho following artlole appeared In Iftkt week' Uhuo of the TItnes-HcraJd of Duma: "There appears to have been some mistake mado respecting tho heat and moat direct routo or peoplo to come to Hum according to report to this olllco tho past few day. It haa co mo to tho notice of thoso who havo recently come In from Portland over tho Deschutes rail llnea that tho O-W. It. ft N. It waa learned by Frank Dibble, who was In Prlno- vlllo laat Tueaday, that tho Uurna Commercial Club la credited with tifo authority to advcrtlao auch a route but Tho Tlmca-Horald find no ac credited officer of tho Commercial Club has ovor written any letter or discussed auch a route. "According to Mr. Dibble peoplo wishing to come to Hums get off at Itedmond and como aa far as Prlno vlllo and not finding any auto line from that point In go back out. Thla la rather a bad state of affairs which will bo romodled at once. Portland publicity people have already been advised of tho alluatlon and will ace to It that proper direction am clven peoplo who wish to come to Hums from that direction. The only direct line from that way is from Bend whoro autoa have been running all winter and more machines will be put on when trafllc Justifies. MOMMI WILL SETTLE HIGH SCHOOL SITE AT VOTERS' MEETING All Tocatlon Will be Placed Hffore Gathering Next Monday and Voted on Until One llccclvcs Majority Tho matter of tho selection of a slto for the' proposed high school will bo decided by tho qualified school voters of the district next Monday, April 7. Notices to that effect have been posted by the school clerk. The meeting will bo held at the school houao at eight p. m. sharp. All residents of the d'strlet whoso names appeared on tho laat tax Toll will be entitled to a vote. It will bo necessary for everyone to b ttioro promptly as the polls will not' be open for any considerable time. Tho plan that will bo followed will be to have all sites, with the prlco asked for each, placed before the meeting. Then these will be voted on, and after each balloting, If none haa re colvcd a majority, the ono receiving the lowest vote will bo eliminated, and another ballot tried. In this way tho board believes It will be able to aelect a slto to be voted on at tho bond Issue election that will bo aa nearly satisfactory to the jtna Jorlty of the voters as it is poaalble toiK0t. As aoon as the location la thus acttled, It Is probable that the bond election, for the Issue of $r!5, 000 of bonds, will be called.
