Thanks to the progresslveness of local lumber manufacturers, Oregon plno has received the attention and the Advertising of a large wood fin ishing house, the 8. C. Johnson Com pany of Racine, Wis. This company specializes in inter ior wood finishings, and sends out many sample books showing the fin ish various woods take. Recently tome of these samples were received here, but none of them were Oregon pine, and upon inquiry it waa found that the finishers knew practically nothing about its possibilities. Then J. P. Keyes of The Hend Company tent them some of the local lumber, which they finished up with their other samples, returning several books of the samples here. "It looks to me aa If We don't need to use fir, or any other woo.d, for our Interior finish," paid Mr. Keyes, after studying the beautiful 'effects obtain ed with the local lumber product. "I don't see how one can Improve on our own pine, when it is treated prop erly." The samples of the pine are finish ed in golden oak, dark mahogany, fumed oak, early English, brown Flemish, weathered oak, brown and green weathered, dark oak, bog oak, and mission oak, giving a roost satis factory Idea of what may be accom plished with the Bend pine for fine finishing work. fermented ciders as n retail liquor dealer In tho building situated un lot 10, block 11. of Heud, Oregon, for the first sumt-nnnunl payment of tho j or beginning January first, 1913.
