this vtclntty ana making a splendid
yield. The hay crop consists chiefly
of clover, alfalfa and ryo, while
wheat and oats are raited extensively
for grain. Different varieties of
clover were raised this season and
some has ylslded as high as two and
one halt tons to the aero the first
crop. Alfalfa on the Jay Nichols
place made two and ono half tons to
tho acre the first cutting. Fred
Svitson raised rye on a dry farm that
produced on the average one ton to
the acre. Whoat on the dry farm of
A. McCalllster will tnako near twenty
bushels to tho aero, while It Is
thought that the oats raited by O.
M. Couch will run a good fifty
bushels to tho aero.
James Swisher who was Injured In
nn automobile accident In llcnd last
week, is still suffering from tho
Injury.
0. M. Couch recently purchased a
now binder from G. V. Horner of
Laldlau.
A number of young men spent the
critlro day Sunday In trying to catch
n horso belonging to Clifford Harri
man. O. M. Couch returned from a fish

clover and It has made a very hoary
yield, being of good height and very
thick. It is tho largo red variety
and Mr. Qalbralth finds It one of tho
moat profitable of farm crops.
Oscar Prickett has a tine field of
oats coming on, part of ' it being
grown on land that was only cleared
this year".
The large potato crop being grown
by George Ilobbs Is making a most
promising outlook. The farmers
hero expect to combine and ship tho
onormous crop of potatoes being
raised this year, By being graded
they should bring top notch prices,
as the quality of Powell Outto spuds
Is second to none.
J. P. Uowraan Is Improving his
homestead by building a very com
fortable bungalow cottage. There
will be fire rooms, which wilt be
plastered and finished up to date In
every way. Mr. Bowman and family
came here less than two years ago
from North Yakima, Wash., and are
making themselves a home on a 320-
