An Irrigation cntorprlso that has

Lako Improvement Company, a cor
poration with hcadquartors at Ilond,
and which plans to uso tho stored
waters of Illuo and Suttlcs lakes for
tho Irrigation of 12,500 acres of fer-
tllo land. This area lies some 22
miles northwest of llend, In the vicin
ity of Cllno Uuttcs. In addition to
tho land for whose irrigation water
rights havo been obtained, thcro Is
about thrco times as much moro land

The first Investigations of this
project wore mado some 20 years ago
by settlers on tho Metollus river. In
