When the Bend Townslto Company's erected a building on Wall street, opposite the present Bulletin build ing, quarters thoro were donated. ' Later, tho Ilend Company retained Ita tenant, also rent free, until re-( cently by tho gift of thn First Nation al Bank, tho building now occupied was obtained. . The company, incorporated with a capital stock of $10,000, has put about $9000 Into its plant here, which Is the only ono In Control Ore gon. It is located fn the building with tho Plonoer Creamery, on the railroad spur that runs to the river It has n floor spaeo of CSOO squpro feet, Including a eouimndlour stor age house which Is cooled by moro than 43,000 feet of 1 Inch pipe. An 11-ton refrigerating mochlno Is operated by electrical motors gener ating 23 horsepower. Tho company has cold storago plants at Madras and Itodmond and ships Ico to thoso towns.
