to me a most wonderful business,
"The object of this company is to
operate a large cat ranch.
"To start with, we will collect
say, one hundred thousand cats.
Each cat will average twelve kittens
a year. The skins run from ten
cents each for white cats to 75 cents
each for pure black. This will give
us 14,000,000 skins a year to soil
at an average of 30c apiece, making
our revenue about $10,000 a day,
gross.
"A man can skin about fifty oatn
per day for $2. It will take 10.0
men to operate the ranch and there
fore the net profit will bo about $&
800 per day.
- "We will feed the cats on rats
and will start a rat ranch next door.
The rats multiply four times as fast
.jis the cats; so If we start 1,000,000
rats wo will havo, thoreforo, four
rats per day for each cat, which is
plenty. Now, then, wo will feed the
rats on tho carcases of tho cats,
from which the skins have been
takon, giving each rat one-fourth of
4 cat, which is plenty.
"It will thus bo seen that tho
business will bo self-acting and au
tomatic all the way through, Tho
rats will eat the cats and tho cats
wllbibat tho rats, and wo will get tho
skins and the $9,800.
