SNOW COVERS EARTH Fall Saturday and Sunday Over Three Inches Weather Report of Dec. The first Bnowfnll of the winter of any preat extent came Saturday nnd Sunday, and when 1011 passed out there was three and n half Inches on the ground at Uend. The coldest night of the month was Thursday, when the Government thermometer dropped to five tie grees above zero. The mean tem perature of the month was 32.S de grees. There were 127 days with sunshine. The total precipitation was 1.23 inches. Saturday the alitor of The Hulletln called up Editor Davey of the Har ney County News and greetings were exchanged. The service is quick nnd good. Across the river from Hend, on Aubrey Heights, two lynx cats were shot Thursday by A. F. Shireman. They were treed by Mr. Shireman's dog and with a 22-rifle he brought them down. The pelts are worth each about $C. Mr. Shireman has quite n col lection of hides as the result of his hunting and trapping expeditions near town during this and other winters. His collection of silver gray squirrel pelts is large, there being 39 of them. He also has several mink pelts and n badger fur which he has had made into a rug. J. V. Smith Property Taken (her II.
