Friday nljlit when they will preneiit at tiie ojnira limine, the iile-npllttinK' one-act comedy entitled, "A SpinHters' Con vention." The characters in the play arc all prominent Mad ran people and the' entertainment made a big hit whun! they premited it for the first time In Madron hint October. M. K. Me loy, editor of the Madron Pioneer, ' wan here hint Saturday night and Sunday tut advance agent and K-em-' cxl plctmed at the enthuHiatitn 1Ih played in the matter by tlioiw with' whom he Uilkeil. He wiyn the play' wuh written only to make jieoplel laugh and forget tlielr worrion, and that thoMi who attend next Friday night will feel when thoy leave tiie oHrn limine that they have had a little bit more than their money's worth. From tho moment you enter thc hall your face will commence nlip-; ping around and when the curtain dropn on the liuit act, you will wake UP to the realisation that it has lieun out of shapo for two eolid hours. Every move of tho homely old mnidu on tho sUge provokes ' mirth. The situations throughout i are ludicrous, iiut above the din, and roar of the amused audience ', can be heard the hum and rattle of tiie mysterious Itomodoloscoe, the ' machine that transforms old maids into handsome young ladies with sjinrkllng eyes and pearly teeth. , The costumes worn by the nc-' AltACTEKS. ! lewK.Tonby Julia E. TIioj are fashioned after tiie style "grandma" umxl to wear. and the headgear to match is trim med with pink daisios and forgct-ine-noU. The inain features of the perform ance are the song hita and funny jokes. "I'm So lamely." sung by one of the old maids, is almost as touching its the scene in Uncle Tom's Cabin when Little Eva bids her friends good-by. And another old nfaid sings that heart-rending ballad entitled, "He Told Such Beautiful Lies." Every bachelor in Bend and tribu tary country should come with their married brothers, prepared to with stand a bombardment of something , the old maids might say about them. Considerable talk has Wen in-, dulged in regarding the entertain ment and from all indications the opera house will be packed. He-1 sides the play there arc several I musical numbers on the program. ' Mrs. Grace Nor thy, for several , years a member of tho Baptist choir at North Yakima, will sing a solo. Other musical numbers include sing ing by the Indies' quartet, solo by Mrs. 0. A. IV'arcc, solo by Dick Anderson and piano duet by Roscoe Crosby and Kuth McTnggart. The program wilt end witli a cakewalk. The show promises to be the most amusing seen in Bond this winter. Several people here wore prosent when it was presented in Madras and sny it was vary enjoyable. 1 HBEI II I Hill 4- I WILL INSTITUTE LODGE fraternal Ifrollicrliood Society to Or gaiiUeln Ilcnd Saturday Nlht District Deputy II.
