Clyde Corkett and two children, Charles and Earl, arrived in llend Wednesday night from Minneapolis to join Mrs. Corkett. They will make their home here. The Catholic chapel car arrived Saturday night and was switched i on the spur to the flour mill. Ser vices are being held daily this week at the Catholic church. F. N. Wallace and Peter Jensen of Lnidlaw spent Monday night here on their way to La Pine with a load of potatoes for J. E. Morson of the Deschutes Land Co. W. II. Wing has sold The Palm to Clyde Corkett of Minneapolis. Mr. Corkett will conduct the busi ness at the same place, and in con nection will run a candy kitchen. II. P. Smart, vice preaidont of the Wolls & Dickey Co., farm mortgages and bonds, of Minne apolis, sjient several days here last week looking over the town and surrounding country. A bnrn dance will be glvon at Linster's Hall Thanksgiving evon ing. The decorations will be hay and harness and everybody is re quested to wear their old clothes. There will be moonlight waltzes and barn dances. Lee Davenport returned Sunday night from a trip to Arizona. He said when he left there last week the weather was cold and blustery and in the fields he saw many cattle dead from exposure. Mr. Daven port was met here by his wife and drove out to his ranch near Powell Butte Monday. The Bend Co.'s sawmill, which has been closed down since last week on account of the supply of I logs running out, will resume cut- ting in a few days, Manager McKay says. A big drive' of logs is being made, E. A. Smith having sold to j the company logs cut on the cost i side of the river. IIIOll SCHOOL MUttT AT STAR. The High School students have arranged with the management of the Star Theater for a benefit pro 'gram Thursday night, Nov. 23. There will be three shows starting at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30, respectively. Special music has been provided and High School pupils will present a sketch entitled "The Human Organ." The following films will be shown: i "Captain Barnacle's Courtship," "The Shelling of the San Marcos" , (feature film); "In the Days of Chivalry."
