recently formed, is active in the in
terests of that town and vicinity.
Its chief publicity work is centered
in an attractive six-page leaflet on
excellent paper, GOOO copies of which
it tins just had printed for distribu
tion among prospective homeseekers.

ranchers have reported that their
)oimg trees have had rfuuh fruit aa
apples, pears mid cherries. The
oivhards here are et )outtg and It Is
not known what the Kissiliilltles of
fruit grow log are.
There are several herds of good
dairy cattle being Inilll up In this
district and much butter Is made. This
Is probably the most prolltnble In
dustry this country will hnve In the
future. Tin' fartiict-N have found that
they can gel more for their hay by
feeding it and selling the produce
from the stock. Owing to the eipiahlc
climate all classes of livestock and
especially hogs and iioultry thr've and
prove very profitable.
There Is very little valuable govern
ment land left In the district. Itnw
Irrigable land can be had for '-) up,
dltlons as set forth are reliable and
can bo verified.
Laldlaw Is located In the western
part of Crook County on tho Deschutes
Hirer. It Is surrounded by tho fol
lowing Irrigation projects: The Cen
tral Oregon Irrigation Co., and the
Deschutes Irilicuiiou and llcclamiillnu
Co. on the eait; The Tuuialo Irri
gation Co. on the south: The Columbia
Southern Irrigation Co., The Three
Creeks Irrigation Co., The llnn-row-Winter
Ditch and The Spmw Creek
Irrigation Co. on the west. The IjiIiI
law District comprises a territory
about ten tulles square.
The land In this district Is undulat
ing with a slope nurthwnrd and to
wards the river. The Deschutes Hlver

The altitude In this section ranges
