CO-OPERATION BURNS AUTO TRUCK LINE ASSURED Marrt.ion and RIrk I'lnd Hnrncy County Merchant tin tliti I n M I c About Receiving freight by !t Serlcc-Cnmpbell .May Run Cars F. P. Kiggs and Z. C. Harrison, who were in Bond recently on their way to Burns to find out what the possibilities were for establishing an auto truck line from here to the Harney county seat, met with much encouragement, front reports re ceived from Burns. In its last Issue the Harney County News said: "Mr. Harrison found ready re sponse from Burns business men, who assured him of immediate patronage. Under this arrange ment they save money even though the Vale-Burns hauling rate should be one and n half cents i pound. They can be also assured of winter delivery and they can receive their goods in two days from railroad. This will make a happy revolution. "The intention is to maintain the auto truck service during the months of November, December, Jnnuary and February. Trucks carrying three tons will be used and there is no fear of impediments, as it is declared they can manage through two feet of snow without difficulty." D. E. Campbell of Seattle, who also went to Burns on a similar mission, reported on his return Sat urday that he would probably start a line to Burns next spring. Many of the merchants there had already got in their stocks, he said, and this would cut down the volume of freight from here during the winter months. Mf ertl .
