The production is being staged by II. W. Hosworth, a man of experi ence, from the east. He recently put it on at Princviile two nights to packed houses. The title is "Down In Dixie" and is a play of the Civil war. The plot is laid In a Southern home and the story is a portrayal of j a Yankee's love for a girl of the South. Annual Meetlngof Stockholders Satur day Alto Authorized Completion of Canal to Full Capacity History of This Irrigation Company. A telephone line to extend throughout the Arnold system and bring the settlers in closer touch with each other and with the people of Bend was one of the most Im portant actions taken at the annual meeting of the Arnold Irrigation Co. Saturday afternoon. Comple tion of the canals of the system to furnish water at full capacity was also ordered. The meeting was held at the Star Theater and was harmonious throughout. There was a large attendance of stockholders, and directors for the ensuing year were elected as follows: W. J. McGIII vray, Ed Rrostcrhous, L. D. Wiest, Charles Sipchen and W. F. Mc Naught. The latter two arc new members of the board. The election of this board insures a continuation of tho present policies of the company. The directors will meet within a week or ten days to organize for the next year. On Dec. 37, 1901, articlei of incorpor ation of the Arnold Irrigation Co. were signet! and acknowledged by William Arnold, T. O. IUrtlimin and I. J. Reed and were duly fited and recorded in the office of the Secretary of State at Salem on Jan. 9, 1905, and also in the county clerk's office at Plneville. On Jan. 35, 1905, the entire' membership of Uie com pany composed o.VilIIra Arnold, I O. Reed, T. O. HarsWan, J. E. Reed. V. D. Heed, I. J. Reed, John Steidl, II. W. Reed and P. A. Kunnell adopted by-laws and elected Mr. Arnold presi dent. On Jan. 36 and April XI, 1 905, notices of appropriation for a sufficient amount of water to irrigate 1 3,000 acres of land were posted by President Arnold and the same filed indue time with the county clerk.
