Three baseball fjamoa were played Friday and Saturday between Bond and Prineville school teams, the local boys cominjj out victor in two games. On Krldnv tho Hich School team wont to tho county seat and defeated the Crook County High nine by n score of G to 4 in a well played game. This closed the High School baseball season. Saturday two teams of the Prine ville public school came to Bend o play the local lads. In the morning the fifth grndes met in an exciting game. The Utile lenows piayeu well for their size and training. Mnnv of the crrown-urw were sjwe- tntors at the game and enjoyed the fun as much as the "kids." The final score was: Bend 10; Prineville 7. The rosult was a white-washing for the Bond youngsters, the score be ing 10 to 0 in favor of Prineville. The locals could not connect with the curvos of Noble, while on the other hand the visitors slugged the ball. Sathor got badly spiked and had to retire from tho game. He sells dry block wood at $4.60 per cord. P. M. CARTER Park Addition Is now the scene of the grentost building activity in Bond, there being Fovernl modern residences under construction there. The largest of these will be the ten room house which K. A. Suther is hnving built for his own use. It will le locnted at Tumalo nml Front streets, one of the best sites in that imrt of town. The building will be of frame construction, modern colonial style, two stories in height with basement, and covered with native shingles, On the first lloor will be four rooms and on the sec ond six. It will have nil modern conveniences. The foundation will be of local pink stone. The plans were drawn by W. P. Smith, who also has charge of the building work. Tho stone contract was let to II. Cnlcr. On St. Helens drive, lot 7, block 19, Charles F. Underwood nnd Douglas D. Gardner arc having a four-room bungulow built. Work on it is already well along and it will be ready for occujmncy within a short time. The building will be modernly equipped with electric lights, bath, toilet, etc. A feature of it will be the chimneys of natural Inva rock, with fireplaces of the same material. The construction Is in charge of Frank B. Clark, con tracting architect. Miwuni. Underwood and tiardner ure also having plans made for two other bungalows. !(. P. M inter of the Ilomweokors' Land Co. is having a two-room cottage erected on St. Holons drive. It is 12x30 feet and so constructed that a larger building can Iw Joined on to it. Tho contractor is W. T. Cowan, n recent arrival in Bend. Mr. Cowan has built for himnolf alfMi on St. Helens drive a two-room house, 12x21 feet, in which he is living. He owns two lots and on the vacant one will, In n few months, build n four-room bungalow. At the corner of St. Holons and Kainiur drives !(. A. Puott began work Monday on it bakery. With faith in the future of tho town, he is putting up u building 1(1x28 feet and an ovon 12x15 feet. The foun dation of the ovun will be of natural lava stono, with walls of brick. Mr. Puett ex'KrcU to have his business started within two or three weeks. At present ho is living in u tent but intends to build a residence this fall. The contract wna lot .Monday to Hnzuka & McGregor by W. C. Me CuUton for the construction in Park Addition, lot ,' block 18, on JelTer Hon Drive, of a one-story four-room house to be used as a bachelor quarters. J. H. Stewart of the firm of Stewart, Steclo & Klchords Co. will have work started In a few days on a five-room bungalow to be erected on lots 1 and 2, block 19, Bend, Third Street and Juniper Avenue. It will bo modern in every resjwet and cost $2,000. Tho dimensions are 00x52 feet ovor all, with a 12 foot porch in front.
