M. J. Morrison 1ms lived In Bend' for the past
ei&ht years and has made a business of locating
and cruising government lauds in Central Oregon.
- He knows the land and will locate you on the
best to be had. If you are going to take government land find out who your locator Is, and whether he has lived
in the country long enough to know the lands; also if he Is reliable. This is a matter of importance to landseeUers.

Bend's basketball team broke even
with the Redmond ball toasersinthe
two games played Friday and Sat
urday evenings.
The first game went to Redmond
by the score of 2S to b the visitors
easily outplaying the home team
whose game lacked any kind of snap
or team work. Hewitt, Redmond's
center, played the best game of any
man on the floor.
Before the Iteamonu-Hend game
the White and Blue girls teams play
ed an exhibition game, resulting in
a 6 to 6 score.
In Saturday's game the Bend boys
got together with a rush and gave a
tine exhibition of hard, cleanly play
ed basket boll, winning by the score
of 20 to 13. Richardson took the
place of Hoech, for Bend and Sy
pher went in for Hewitt, for Red
mond. Two minutes before time
was up Sypher was injured; as Red
mond had no substitute, and the vis
itors realizing that they stood no
chance to win in the remaining two
minutes, their captain gave Bend
the game without attempting to
finish it.
The second game was the best yet
seen in Bend. Both contests were
clean and free from rough work,
but seven fouls being called on both
terms Friday and sixteen Saturday.
Shipley and Putnam acted as referee
and umpire in both games. Return
games will probably be played at
Redmond on March 24 and 25.
Saturday night after the game,
a dance was given in the hall. Tick
ets sold to the two games and the
dance totalled $86.20; expenses, in
cluding hotel, transportation, hall
rent, music, printing, etc, totalled
$81.00, leaving a balance of $5.20.
