Bend's basketball team broke even with the Redmond ball toasersinthe two games played Friday and Sat urday evenings. The first game went to Redmond by the score of 2S to b the visitors easily outplaying the home team whose game lacked any kind of snap or team work. Hewitt, Redmond's center, played the best game of any man on the floor. Before the Iteamonu-Hend game the White and Blue girls teams play ed an exhibition game, resulting in a 6 to 6 score. In Saturday's game the Bend boys got together with a rush and gave a tine exhibition of hard, cleanly play ed basket boll, winning by the score of 20 to 13. Richardson took the place of Hoech, for Bend and Sy pher went in for Hewitt, for Red mond. Two minutes before time was up Sypher was injured; as Red mond had no substitute, and the vis itors realizing that they stood no chance to win in the remaining two minutes, their captain gave Bend the game without attempting to finish it. The second game was the best yet seen in Bend. Both contests were clean and free from rough work, but seven fouls being called on both terms Friday and sixteen Saturday. Shipley and Putnam acted as referee and umpire in both games. Return games will probably be played at Redmond on March 24 and 25. Saturday night after the game, a dance was given in the hall. Tick ets sold to the two games and the dance totalled $86.20; expenses, in cluding hotel, transportation, hall rent, music, printing, etc, totalled $81.00, leaving a balance of $5.20.
