F L. Bunten went to The Dalles
last Friday, to get a new Chalmers
Detroit car which he is Felling to
W. E. Friday, a rancher 30 miles
south of Sbaniko. This is the first

land. While there he saw the

time at Shonquist's looking after
the timber interests of tbe Mueller
Lumber Company. He will re
main in the woods until rain comes,
making forest fire impossible.

from La Pine last Thursday and
left next day for Portlaud. Mrs.
Morson will remain in Portlaud
through the winter, but the men
will return to the Walker Uasin in
a few days.
Willjam Haker of Pomery,
Wash., left Monday morning to re
turn home after a week, visit with
his sister, Mrs. M. A. Black, just
east of the experiment farm. He
drives back a team which the Blacks
had here through" the summer. He
will buy laud here a little later.
S G. DorrH, the game warden,
returned last week from an exten
sive trip in the Lakes Crescent and
Odell country, A few miles out of
town, he says, he encountered
a ground fire in the timber, and
was able to have it checked before
it had made any considerable head
way.

of ferrous oxide prints of "Bend &
Boston Ry." cars, each car being
numbered "33" and bearing the
name of the guest, Miss Wiest hav
ing the locomotive. The luncheon
merged into a P. G. shower.
