Kirk Whited of Redmond drove
up to Bend Ust Saturday. He re
ports affairs moving forward at a
very satisfactory gait in the "Hub
City'' and all the crops in the ad
jacent' country looking vetv well.
When questioned concerning his
views on proposed "Deschutes
County" Mr. Whited expressed
himself most freely as being
strongly opposed to it. He con
siders the movement decidedly ill
timed and believes that the bound
aries as set forth in the initiative
petition would work a decided injus
tice both to the parent county and
to much of the territory included
within the proposed new county
lines.
