Cole of Phoenix, Ore, arc looking over local possibilities, They drove all the way from Phoenix via Klamath. Irviti Reed returned to Bend the latter part of last week. As pre viously reported while in Seattle an operation was performed restor ing his sight. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hobbs of Powell Buttes visited friends in Bend last week. Mr. Hobbi says he will have 350 tons of hay to har vest this year. Rev. J. C- Elliott, late pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church, Al bany, and Prof. Hans Flo, of Al bany Colleec havc been iu town during the week. Last Friday eight automobiles passed through Bend on their way from Portland to Reno with pass engers for the "Big Fight." There is a direct road from here via Lake view. Moore. 16-18 "Roxy" Warford went tempor arily insane last week while on his way in from Shaniko with Frank Woods, as a result of a drinking spree. After trying to kill himself he was taken to Priueville. "Roxy" formerly worked for the D. I. & P. Co. and Is well knowu in Beud.
