J. I. West returned from Red
mond Saturday night. "Dad" is
becoming one .of the most noted
bankers in the country. In Red
moud he was engaged In installing
the vault of the new bank there.
This is the eighth vault Dad has
erected.

change its name and its location.
Hereafter the establishment will be
known as the Oklahoma Restaurant
and will occupy the John White
building. It is understood that
Mr. White's butcher busiucss will
be conducted from a wagon.

who hitherto have been -operating

Ernest Rands of Oregon City
was in Bend this week on his way
to Fort Rock. He is a surveyor
and has contract for subdividing
township 26 uth, range 15 east,
He has just completed marking a
single mile of the line in Buck
Creek canyon, Sherman county,
which seems to have been over
looked when the survey of that
locality was made.

Yesterday the party was taken up
to Uenham Falls to sec the timber,
the river, and particularly to enjoy
a fihing holiday. All avow them
ttelves ardent Bend enthusiasts and
promise to return later in the sum
mer to spend a month here. Mr.
Coovert, who is an authority tipon
things piscatorial, and has been
closely identified with the Oregon
fish and game Jaw making, says
that Bend offers an ideal location
for a state hatchery, and promises
to use his influence in Interesting

ter.
